How does a match go?

Best of 5: up to 5 rounds with 3 questions each, 4 answer options, 15 seconds per question. Whoever wins 3 rounds first wins the match, so many matches end after 3 or 4 rounds.

What is a streak?

Your streak counts the days in a row you answered at least one question. A day ends at midnight Eastern Time. Miss a day and it starts over. With notifications on, you get one evening reminder when your streak is about to end. You can turn that off in Settings.

Who wins a round?

Whoever answers more questions correctly. On a tie, the faster total time wins the round. If rounds are level after 5, correct answers decide, then time.

Who picks the category?

Alternating: you for rounds 1, 3 and 5, your opponent for rounds 2 and 4. Both get the same questions, each in their own language.

Do we have to be online at the same time?

No. Everyone plays their round when they have time. Whoever is up gets a notification.

Why can't I see my opponent's result right away?

Only after you have played the round yourself, so nobody gets an edge.

Who wins a tie?

Whoever answered faster overall.

What if someone stops playing?

After 2 days without a move they lose by forfeit. Open requests expire after 3 days.

Why does the clock keep running when I reload?

Time runs on the server. Reloading or switching apps does not help.

Invite a friend by link

“Start a match” → send the link via WhatsApp. Your friend needs no profile, just a name.

Challenge a friend by name

With a profile: search a player and challenge them. They can accept or decline.

Random opponent

You are matched with another player who wants to play right now.

Rematch

After the final score you can ask for a rematch right away or challenge someone else.

Cancel a match

Only against random opponents and only before the first round is played.

Guest or profile?

As a guest you play right away, but only on this device. With a profile (username + password, free) wins, friends, school and ranking stay on all devices.

Turn a guest into a profile

Menu → Create profile. Your matches so far stay.

Add an email?

Optional but recommended: only with an email can you reset a forgotten password.

Avatar and language

In settings: avatar with skin tone, language (German, English, Spanish), profile public or private.

Friends

Mark players with ⭐ to find them quickly for a challenge.

Public profile

You can share your page promdriz.com/p/your-name. Others can challenge you there directly.

What is a school?

Your high school or college. Pick it when registering or in settings.

School ranking

In the ranking you can filter by state, city or school. Your own school is the default. “Clear filters” shows everyone.

School page

Menu → Schools: all-time top 10, all members, challenge straight from the list, link to share.

Poster link

Whoever arrives via the school link or QR code joins the school automatically after signing in.

Change or leave a school

Any time in settings. Your matches stay.

My school is missing

Write to us on the contact page (menu → Contact) and we will add it.

Order

Wins, then points (correct answers), then fewer losses.

Periods

Day, week (from Monday), month, year. Only finished matches count; a forfeit counts as a loss.

Link via WhatsApp

Match, final score, profile and school have a WhatsApp button. The preview with image comes automatically.

“Share image” creates a story card. Post it and add the link as a sticker.

Copies the link and opens your phone's share menu.

Install as an app

Android: menu → “Install as app” or Chrome menu → “Add to home screen”. iPhone: Safari → Share → “Add to Home Screen”.

Notifications

Menu → enable notifications. On iPhone only as an installed app.

Samsung Internet shows a warning

Tap “Open in Chrome”. Everything runs in Chrome without a warning.

Language

Detected automatically, changeable in settings. Your opponent plays in their language with the same questions.

Where do the questions come from?

Editorially maintained in three difficulty levels, e.g. rules, pros & tournaments, tactics, history, records.

Do questions repeat?

Not while there are unplayed ones. Answers are shuffled per player.

Found a wrong question / answer?

Write to us on the contact page (menu → Contact) with the question and we will fix it.

Forgot password

“Forgot password” on the login page, only possible with a stored email.

Change password or email

In settings, confirmed by a code sent to your email.

What is stored?

Name, avatar, matches and answers, optionally email and school. No ad tracking. Details under Privacy.

Delete account

At the bottom of settings. Your profile is anonymised, open matches deleted, finished matches stay without your name.
